iPad users who love Opera will now be able to access a number of performances whenever they please. The New York Metropolitan Opera announced yesterday that it will launch a new iPad app which provides 44 of its performances from its Live in HD series, and a total of 250 performances at launch. iPad users will have unlimited streaming access to the performances, but will also be able to access other broadcasts. Those who wish to stream performances to their computers can access that feature with a $14.99 per month subscription fee. The Met hopes to reach fans both old and new with the app, and promises video and audio of very high quality. Along with streaming video of such performances as Don Giovanni and Anna Bolena, fans will also be able to access Facebook and Twitter from the app.
